On 8 and 9 June, the Annual Meeting of Partners of the Guide of the Portuguese Geological and Mines Sites, which is exclusively for the participation of the Partners, will be held at the Star Hotel Auditorium in São Domingos (Mértola).
Likewise, the 6th São Domingos Miners’ Meeting, the program of which can be consulted here, will be held on 9 and 10 June.
The EDM participates in the organization and activities of these two events.
On 8 May, EDM – Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro, SA attended the 2017 Annual Event of the Portugal 2020 Operational Programme Management Authorities on “On the Way to Portugal 2020 – Funding Outcomes and Opportunities”, which took place at the Convento de São Francisco in Coimbra.
In a parallel session on European Union Funds for SUSTAINABILITY – for a “Greener” Portugal, a case study entitled “Interventions in the Field of Remediation of Environmental Liabilities” was presented by Dr. Luís Pita Ameixa, voting member of the Board of Directors of EDM.
Lousal Living Science Centre is organizing an event on 8 and 9 April, as part of Partners of the Mining Trail Week, which invites visitors to discover the former mining area of Lousal and the importance of mineral resources in our daily life.
Explore the former Waldemar Mining Gallery as you step into the role of an investigator, visit the inside of the power plant – the former heart of the mine and discover how this whole system functions as a veritable open-air laboratory.

EDM – Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro, SA will be present, from 15 to 17 March, at Green Business Week, which will be held at the Lisbon Congress Centre. It is an event focusing on the challenges of sustainability and the promotion of green growth, and at the same time acts as a meeting point for the transfer of knowledge.
Forming part of the exhibition area for entities overseen by the Office of the Secretary of State Secretary for Energy, of the Ministry of the Economy, the focus of EDM – Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro, SA is on the recovery of geological resources and the environmental remediation of areas degraded by abandoned former mining operations.
